Temporary Footpath Closures

Please be advised that MCC recently made a temporary closure order for various public footpaths throughout the county.   

The paths have been closed because they cross bridges that are in a dangerous condition. Some of the paths have previously been closed by order but others have only recently been identified.

The Star on the Hill at Llanfihangel Tor-y-Mynydd is all set to reopen Friday 29th August 2025.

Thanks to SOS (Save Our Star) community group, this iconic pub will reopen, with new landlords Richard and Dee Barker, at 3pm. 

The grand reopening weekend will feature live music, including a Tom Jones tribute act starting 7.30pm on Saturday night.

The pub will serve classic fare, host a darts league, plus offers a new pool table.

Opening:  Tuesday to Sunday.   

Please be advised that the kitchen is not yet operational so food will not be served on the opening weekend.

The pub has received donations in excess of £12,000 for furniture, equipment, refurbishment, materials, all from locals, individuals, business's and groups. Additonal help from local villagers & the SOS group, all attending to help with refurbishment and redecoration both inside and out.
