Safer Roads Campaign
Devauden Community Council has an active campaign to reduce speeds and promote safer road use within and and between our villages. This area of the website aims to keep residents fully informed and engaged with that campaign.
Traffic calming consultation
Working with Monmouthshire County Council, we now have a selection of fully-designed traffic calming options for Devauden Village. These were presented and discussed at the public meeting at Devauden Village Hall on October 15th.
Option 1 involves changes and enhancement to road markings only - think of it as the minimum option, and a foundation for all of the others.
Options 2 through 6 use some combination of physical road narrowings, the creation of new footways, and a 'build out' of a much safer bus stop (near the village green) to further slow traffic. It's important to know that the road narrowings and bus stop build are interdependent - in terms of slowing traffic and accessing funding.
We'd like your thoughts and feedback on the various options - your ideas, preferences and critiques.
Start by reviewing this presentation - it provides a good overview of each option and its design logic. You can view all options large scale too:

Then download this form and tell us what you think. You can email it to clerk@devaudencc.org.uk - deadline 31st October. Or you can print it out and drop it off at the village shop - deadline 30th October. Thank you!
