Devauden Community Council

What we do

What we do

In action

Local voice, loud and clear

We speak up for the community on local issues, from planning to public services

We keep our rolling programme of activities up to date in the 'Matters Arising' section of our minutes

Green spaces and places

We help keep footpaths, green spaces and public areas accessible and looked after

For example, we organise and fund grass cutting for village and community greens, we regularly work with Monmouthshire County Council and land owners to help keep footpaths open and accessible

Planning, with community in mind

We review planning applications and make sure your views are heard

Monmouthshire County Council is obliged to listen to our recommendations

Community defibrillators, near you

We are rolling out new defibrillators across our communities

Map of defibrillators coming soon

Safer roads, for everyone

We're working hard to reduce average speed and promote considerate and safe road use within and between our villages

We're a very active influencer, teaming with Monmouthshire County Council and our neighbouring community councils to create change

Looking after what matters

We take care of some everyday things in our communities: some you need, some just make life nicer

For example, bus shelters, village notice boards, Devauden village allotments, Devauden Village Green, red phone boxes and well as community spaces within the ward.

Small donations, with impact

We offer support to local groups, clubs and activities that benefit the area

We are able to offer small donations to support local activities. In the past these have included things like a contribution to the OAP’s Christmas meal and Devauden fireworks. If you know of a group or activity that you feel we should be supporting, please e-mail details to clerk@devaudencc.org.uk in the first instance and we will get back to you

Working together, for a better future

We aim to be as 'joined up' as possible, teaming with others to create a bigger impact

We regularly collaborate with Monmouthshire County Council, Natural Resources Wales, Wye Valley National Landscape, Wye Valley Villages Action Group, our neighbouring community councils, and our local schools
