Welcome to Devauden Community Council
Hello - we are Devauden Community Council. You might know us as the people to see when you need to share an opinion on a planning application, or the state of the roads. And you’re very welcome. We cover a lot more ground than that though, and a bigger territory than you might think.
For instance, we own and coordinate defibrillators on our patch, and we’re a focal point for community co-ordination with Monmouthshire County Council, Gwent Police, local housing associations and community volunteers. We run allotments, and we look after ground maintenance on many of the communal, open spaces near you. Our patch runs north-south from Llansoy to Howick, and east-west from The Cot (...almost Tintern) to the far edges of Kilgwrwg and Wolvesnewton. The B4293 threads its way through our villages, as does Star Pitch, and the Devauden Road to St Arvans: we’re passionate about improving safety for residents and all road users, as well as doing our best to support public and active transport.
While it may be true that we have limited delegated powers - to directly change MCC policy - we’re very good at deploying our powers of persuasion to good effect on behalf of all residents.
